Classic Corned Beef and Cabbage

This classic corned beef and cabbage is made with simple, whole food ingredients for the easiest flavorful and nourishing meal. Slow-cooked to perfection, it's a gut friendly dish perfect for March and St. Patty's Day.

Ingredients

  • Corned beef brisket 🥩
  • 1.5 pounds red potatoes, quartered 🥔
  • 1 white onion, cut into wedges 🧅
  • 5-6 peeled carrots 🥕
  • Beef bone broth 🍖
  • 1 head cabbage 🥬
  • grass fed butter 🧈
  • salt 🧂

Instructions

  1. Layer a crockpot with potatoes, half the onion wedges and carrots. Place the corned beef on top and sprinkle with the seasoning packet that comes with it. Top with the other half of the onion wedges.
  2. Pour beef bone broth into the crockpot until the corned beef is half covered by the liquid. Cover and cook on low for eight hours.
  3. Right before serving: In a separate pan, cook cabbage with a couple tabs of grass fed butter and salt.
